Experience

Mr. Azrin represents individuals and businesses in litigation and transactional business law matters.

In the area of litigation, Mr. Azrin has handled litigation matters involving a variety of business disputes, including contracts, fraud, defamation, tortious interference, franchise, securities, trademarks, trade secrets, confidentiality agreements, non-compete agreements, employment banking, and real estate related disputes. He has substantial courtroom experience, including more than 18 trials, of which 9 were jury trials. He has appeared in the state and federal trial and appellate courts in a number of states, including Florida, New York, New Jersey, California and Delaware, as well as mediation and arbitration proceedings.

In the area of employment law, Mr. Azrin has handled matters involving wrongful termination; race, age, sex, and disability discrimination; retaliation; whistleblowers; overtime wages; medical leave; unpaid wages; employee handbooks; employment contracts; severance agreements; non-compete agreements; confidentiality agreements; and trade secrets.

In the area of franchising, Mr. Azrin represents start-up and established franchisors and master franchisors, as well as franchisees. With respect to franchisors, Mr. Azrin has assisted start-up franchisors to prepare their franchise agreements and Uniform Franchise Offering Circulars, comply with state registration requirements, prepare and negotiate master franchise agreements, register and defend trademarks, and resolve disputes with franchisees. With respect to franchisees, Mr. Azrin has helped franchisees negotiate franchise agreements, negotiate lease agreements, form corporations, prepare shareholders agreements, purchase existing franchises, and resolve disputes with franchisors.
